National Geographic Geo Challenge
Are you curious?
Have you always wanted to be a National Geographic Explorer?
Are you ready to tackle real global problems?
Well then National Geographic is looking for someone like you!
Join Hill in taking on the National Geographic Geo Challenge! This year’s theme is “Tackling the Plastic Pollution Problem”. Plastics in our environment are reaching critical point. Enough plastic is thrown away each year to circle the Earth four times and less than 20% gets recycled. That means plastics end up in our landfills, waterways, and ecosystems. The world desperately needs problem solvers and change makers!
Students in this club will work in teams to learn more about the issue and present possible solutions through map making, model building, and video production. Selected teams may advance to the regional competition.
Permission slips are available in front of the guidance office.
The club will meet on Mondays from 3:00-4:30 in room 111 beginning October 21st and run through project submission in January.
