Hill Band to Honor One of Our Original Trailblazers
Reported by email@example.com on 2/22/17
Judy Ronaldson is retiring this year, and we are doing a special piece at our band concert in her honor. Judy is one of the original staff members from when Hill Middle School opened in 1981. You can still see her name on the original dedication program from that year.
On Wednesday, March 8 the Hill Middle School 7th and 8th grade bands are performing a concert that starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Hill upper gym. The concert will be special because we are performing Lassus Trombone, a famous ragtime-style march, that proudly features the trombone. We are performing this piece in honor of Hill teacher Judy Ronaldson, a trombonist since fourth grade and a math teacher in her thirty-sixth year at Hill. She is retiring at the end of this school year after a total of 37.55 years of service (the additional 1.55 years are a a result of a long term subbing position as well as a year at Waubonsie Valley High School before Hill opened), teaching a generation of sixth through eighth graders not only math, but often also science, reading, U.S. history, and social studies. Ms. Ronaldson has attended nearly every band concert at Hill and is one of our greatest supporters. Join us as we celebrate a great educator and friend with this musical tribute. Admission is free and open to the public.
